This piece is in tribute to one of the artists who has been an incredible inspiration to me, Peter Parnall. You may recognize his work from such books as The Daywatchers and Hawk, I'm Your Brother. His work is very unique, combining painstaking detail with vast areas of undetailed space. His raptors are, in a word, spiritual. He once stated, "I try to get the essence of the animal." Seeing his works as a child were a massive encouragement when it came to my raptor art - with pen and ink, he seemed to draw the birds that flew in my imagination.
To that amazing artist, thank you for your inspiration.
